At one time or another, everybody has problems they need help in dealing with. Dr. Sara Iijima, noted 'psycho-feed' psychiatrist and investigator for the government's Health Department, offers her unique brand of therapy by using her humongous breasts to invoke a dream-like state in her patients to find the answers they need in her PRIVATE PYSCHO LESSON. Take a cold shower, because the sessions about to begin...

LESSON ONE - YURI. Dr. Sara, with her comedy relief... err ...assistant Tamine, from arrive rather dramatically at a local college to investigate the odd behavior of co-ed Yuri. It seems the otherwise normal schoolgirl has started prostituting herself after the day's classes. Sara needs to find out why! Sara and Tamine follow Yuri after school and see the girl engage in some peculiar behavior in a lingerie shop before a client pages her. Later, Yuri provides the 'full service' to her customer while Sara and Tamine spy on the encounter with their state-of-the-art helicopter hovering outside the seedy hotel. Sara is adamant about finding the cause of Yuri's conduct, and pages the girl herself. However, the session doesn't go quite as planned when Sara finds herself overwhelmed by Yuri's touch, unable to use her 'psych-feed' therapy. But Yuri suddenly becomes violent and threatens to slash Sara's impressive rack, only to run away after the timely arrival of Tamine. What is going on in the schoolgirl's head? Her confidence shaken, can Sara get it together and find the cause behind Yuri's troubles? Or is this the last lesson Sara will ever learn?

LESSON TWO - ERIKA. Sara and Tamine fly their 'copter to another school to meet Sara's old classmate Erika. It seems Erika has turned the formerly out-of-control student body into a model group of young adults since she became the school's counselor. Sara has her doubts about her friend's methods, however. Sara's fears are confirmed when she and Tamine spy on one of Erika's after-school lectures - Erika is using a form of high-frequency feedback to literally brainwash the students! Sara rushes to stop her, but Erika now controls the class. They subdue (and disrobe) our heroine, allowing Erika to get inside Sara's head. Time for the 'tentacle-sex' sequence as Erika decries Sara's therapy and extols her own - who the heck needs individuality anyway. Another timely arrival by Tamine prevents Sara from suffering further harm, but has the damage been done? Will Sara overcome Erika's minions and find the reason for her friend's radical behavior? Or has her 'psycho-feed' therapy failed her when she needs it the most?

Umm...yeah. For a DVD that promotes itself as an amine adult title, there is not that much actual sex in PRIVATE PYSCHO LESSON. The only graphic sex scenes are of the dreaded tentacle variety during the various therapy sessions; sex between two humans is all implied, which is a bit of a cheat. PRIVATE PYSCHO LESSON does offer a different slant on the standard 'smut' formula, but allows itself to have way too much exposition and not nearly enough intercourse. As the lead character, Sara is developed well, having the full range of emotions from vulnerable to very self-confident. However, the supporting cast is not so well rounded; Tamine is just the wacky sidekick, lusting after every girl in the show. Yuri and Erika have potential, but the situations become formulaic. The causes behind their behavior turn out to be pretty much what one would expect. The writers do add some creative touches (the rotating boob bit) and dashes of comedy, but the great chunks of dialogue and absence of sex really sink the story into a wordy hodge-podge that will satisfy neither anime lover nor porn-meister. The animation itself is fairly standard, but the girls are so darn cute (and all have a healthy chest - go figure.)The picture quality is fine for the TV standard, as well as the audio.

The DVD release of PRIVATE PYSCHO LESSON includes only a few extras. There is an art gallery and a short feature on the adult anime art form, as well as the usual trailers and reviews of other anime adult titles.

PRIVATE PYSCHO LESSON attempts to give the audience a sex film with an actual story, but unfortunately doesn't quite succeed. The producers should have chosen to either make a thought provoking (yet sexy) drama, or a flat out smut film. Despite the amount of enormous hooters, this result of combining the two genres is disappointing. I do like the character of Dr. Sara, so I hope she'll come back...with those wonderful breasts, of course.
