Chapter One - A military helicopter chases down a nubile redhead. Soon surrounded by armed men, the girl leaps from the top of the building... In another part of town, a raven-tress lass engages in some steamy sex with her boyfriend. However, she refuses to uncover her sweet spot, but allows her man to take her in the rear. He plunges in, and as her orgasm approaches, wings unfold from her head! A brunette student picks up a young red haired girl in the park. They have a sexual encounter; but again, the girl is reluctant to uncover her mons. When she reaches the big 'O', wings sprout from her head as well. Meanwhile, a man mountain bangs a third girl; the blond won't let him near her vitals, though. And when she grows her wings, she sucks the life out of the rapist. What compels these insatiable nymphs?

Chapter Two - In his apartment, young computer geek Shou surfs the 'net finding out about the mysterious nymphs from beyond. Taking a break, he hears a noise in the stairwell. Investigating, Shou stumbles upon a girl masturbating. She runs away when she notices him. The next night, after dropping off food for his reclusive artist father, Shou encounters the same girl getting off on the stairs. After she bolts again, he looks across to the next building, where a couple is having hot 'n' heavy sex on their balcony. Shou is so enthralled he can't look away, and blows a load in his pants. Finally, on the third try, Shou manages to meet the mysterious girl named Floy - and yes, she's a nymph. Shou soon learns her most intimate secrets.... and her curse...

Chapter Three - There are 100 nymphs coming to earth to indulge in their carnal desires; however, five of them are 'defective' and do not possess the powers of their sisters. This puts them in danger if they get it on with the wrong type of human, like a perverted janitor who likes 'FFA', or a thief who is literally 'trigger-happy', or a spoiled rich girl into S&M. And when things go bad, the other nymphs feel their pain...

Now if you find all of this confusing and disjointed, then you'll surely find NYMPHS OF THE STRATOSPHERE to be an exercise in perplexity. Unfortunately, the film can be summed up in one word - boring. The sex is both too brief, redundant, or perverted, and there is no cohesive story, characterization, or flow. Perhaps I expect too much from a porn film, but if it's not a balls-to-the-wall sex film, then at least develop some sort of storyline. The producers start with an interesting premise, but go absolutely nowhere with it. It's like a bowl of alphabet soup; the words are there, but it makes no sense. The sexual encounters are energetic, but far too brief for any real titillation. The second half of Chapter One is totally redundant; the initial 3 sex scenes are rehashed as still sequences with a different narrative that explains nothing. The Shou chapter is a lot of talk and masturbation (the scene with the couple on the balcony is rather bawdy, however), and while it answers some questions about the nymphs, it doesn't explain anything about why the nymphs are here, what they're doing or who they really are. The third sequence is an excuse to be disgusting - it's a pointless indulgence in the sleazier aspects of sex. Production-wise, the animation of NYMPHS OF THE STRATOSPHERE is fairly standard - no great artistic achievement, but the action is well drawn and the girls are cute. The picture quality and color are decent; well defined and clean. Audio is fine - there's not much of it, and most of the dialogue is agonizingly slow, but you can hear it well enough.

KITTY Media has released NYMPHS OF THE STRATOSPHERE without much in the way of extras. There is a choice of languages (Japanese/English), and four X-rated trailers. That's it.

If sleazy sex is your forte, then I guess you may want to check out NYMPHS OF THE STRATOSPHERE. I know I shouldn't expect plot or characters in a sex film, but the whole show was too slow, too repetitive and too pointless. I always try to say something positive about the films I review, but with NYMPHS OF THE STRATOSPHERE, that's not really possible. Cute they may be, but these nymphs left me unsatisfied.
